Welcome, elkgrandkid.  It would be interesting whose grandkid you are if you are willing to tell us.  Please join us often and help me keep Janet and Teresa is their places.

Janet, I think this is our 162nd member.  Look out, Dodge city, we are gaining on you.  Three in one day and the day isn't over yet.

Glad you joined us.  As the old adage goes............"the more, the merrier."  Enjoy!

Hi,  I didn't expect to get a welcome.  (But it's nice!)

I'm a bit disappointed.  I saw this advertised in the Good News Community Newspaper for Elk County, but it looks more like Howard area?

Anyone from around Longton/Oak Valley way?

I'm a Reynolds-Rothgeb/Crowell grandkid.

Anybody here from the same lines?

I have a number of  biographies of folks that lived in the Longton/Oak Valley areas, that I just haven't gotten posted yet.  The genealogy and obituary boards are an ongoing and endless project.  We would welcome any genealogy/obituary material that pertains to this area, if you will please post it, as it would help us out, and others, too.

The genealogy and obituary boards were created only about three months ago, so we have a long road ahead of us.

Doesn't it make you feel proud just knowing you are among the first from the Longton/Oak Valley to join in the efforts of preserving the history?   :) :)

Please don't give up on this forum.  It did start out as a Howard forum, and still is basically that.  For the originators, we give thanks.  They are a very generous crowd and have opened several of the boards, especially THE GOOD OLD DAYS, GENEALOGIES, and OBITUARIES to those of us with interests throughout all of Elk County and several of us are starting to post articles relating to the other towns and communities.  If you have items relating to Longton/Oak Valley, I think you would be welcome to share here.

You betcha you can post things on anything that you want pertaining to any and all counties. In fact as I type this ..I do believe Kjell is drafting something to "put on the table" to all of you ...so be ready to give your opinion and be very honest when you do please.
We will need to hear from everyone on this...
We may have created this forum and meeting place..but it is all of you who keep it alive and support it.
So we welcome all of your thoughts..

( Except Ta Ta... and whatever she says I am going to ignore..

Oh stop your pouting... I was just kidding you~~

Ok, I'll think about it for awhile and see what I can post without "stepping on clan toes".

I'm thinking maybe I can post some general memories.

I'm going to start a thread about "geology of Elk County".  That should be pretty safe.

elkgrandkid.........do you have any connection to Glenn Crowell that used to live in the Longton area?
