If'n he had him a coonskin hat he'd probably want him some Davy Crockett  buckskin clothes.

If'n he had him a coonskin hat he'd probably want him some Davy Crockett  buckskin clothes.

Born on a mountain top in Tennessee,
Greenest state in the land of the free.
Raised in the woods so's he knew every tree,
Killed him a bear when he was only three.
Davy, Davy Crockett
King of the Wild Frontier.

Fought single handed through the Injun war,
Till the Creeks was whipped and peace was restored.
And while he was handling this risky chore,
Made himself a legend forevermore.
Davy, Davy Crockett
The man who don't know fear.

When he lost his love, and his grief was gall,
In his heart he wanted to leave it all,
And lose himself in the forest tall,
But he answered instead his country's call.
Davy, Davy Crockett,
The choice of the whole frontier

He went off to Congress and served a spell
Fixin' up the government and laws as well.
Took over Washington, so we hear tell,
And patched up the crack in the Liberty Bell.
Davy, Davy Crockett,
Seein' his duty clear.

When he come home, his politickin' done,
The western march had just begun.
So he packed his gear, and his trusty gun
And lit out a grinnin' to follow the sun.
Davy, Davy Crockett,
Leadin the Pioneers.

His land is biggest, and his land is best
From grassy plains to the mountain crest
He's ahead of us all in meeting the test
Followin' his legend right into the West
Davy, Davy Crockett,
King of the Wide Frontier
King of the Wild Frontier.

why.  if he had that Davy Crockett look,   we might run him for political office,  he'd be better than anybody who's running now.

That was always one of my favorites too.

I did a book report on one of the two "twins" in fourth grade.  For the presentation we had to dress up like the person...  I still have the fake coonskin hat (with real tail). ;D

I've never had coon meat, but have wanted to try it.  I already heard it's pretty greasy.  Despite my persona, I really don't like super-greasy foods anymore. :(  Doesn't mean I won't try it.

I didn't know that because mine isn't cat! >:( >:(

I must say, though, that I had one of those Groucho Marx glasses/nose sets when I was young.  I swore up and down that the eyebrows were made of cat fur. ::) ;D

Most likey was, up until recently many stray cats that were put to sleep were sold to furriers.

So what kind of tail does yours have, bet it ain't coon. ;D

Lord, Ill have to send ya a coon tail or 3,  there are so many coons around here,  you see a lot more of them run over than cats or dogs.  you see them out in the daytime and always at night.

I have enough experience with cats to know that the tail is not of a cat, but I cannot say for sure that it is coon. ;D
