That was 2 pounds of sirloin steak as meat.  My supper on the 3rd of this month and enough left over for breakfast. ;D

Watch Alton Brown on Good Eats, that boy know's how to eat.

I have one coming up the 27th of Aug at a Restored Pony Express staion down south of me just inside Kansas.  My blacksmith friends talked me into coming.  They have a large garden with heirloom type veggies in it.  Bet I could make somthing out of them that Trinity would eat.  Oh, BTW I have free reign in the garden, if it's eatable I can cook it up. ;D

Turkey and Beans in the chili, ya might as well add the macaroni and sprinkle Velveeta in it. :P

Next you'll be usin' Emril's or Matha Stewart chili mix in it.

I agree on the macroni and velvetta<<<< Don't knock the 3 bean chili till you tried it.

when I was a kid, my grandpa had 75 pecan trees that he always kept sprayed and cleaned up around,
in the fall he would have the tree shaken by machine ,

we always had all the pecans we could handle and sold the rest.

Awwwwww man. Way back when. A bag ah pecans from a neighbor's tree we picked up off the ground.  Momma's nut crackers.  Glass ah Coke with ice in it.  No air, sit in the floor with the fan blowin' on ya.  Ever once in a while ya'd miss a hunk ah shell - gee that was bitter!  Three channels on B&W TV 'n all worth watchin'.

Memories.....

Back in Texas when I was a boy, we had a pecan tree outside and would always pick the pecans up at christmas time and have them in bowls all over the place.  I can eat pecans if they are around.  I just won't seek them out.

back through the years, I use to make oatmeal cookies with pecans, grandma taught me when I was pretty young and I could always make a better batch than ma wifes,  except the one I have now, she is good  at cooking, and like to cook.

I have never dated a woman that knew how to cook more than five dishes.  ::)  I guess it's a sign of the times.  You'd think that with all these cooking shows more people are cooking.  But if you look in the grocery stores at the prepared foods you think otherwise. :(

Can I cook?  Maybe, but I'd rather take that box of hamburger helper... it's faster. ;D
