Sounds like a Ron Popeil Showtime Rotisserie cooker commercial.  "Set it and forget it".

I like the Glocks too, but they're not made in the fatherland.  (Although Austria was once part of greater Germany... bit that's a another story).

Trinity, what about a Luger or a P38?  Most cops carry Glocks . They are fairly maintence free. A SIG is a higher maintence weapon than the Glock. I carry both, but the Glock requires less maintence.

Even as I kid I noticed the change from a jazz band to an orchestra in the theme once Roger took the role--also the black tux turned white at the same time.
I was jus funnin with Trin, but his knowedge of firearms throughout the serious was impressive  :)

There is only one Bond, James Bond. My follow Scotsman, Sean Connery.  He has got a  "Scotland forever" tattoo on one of his arms.

I was just picking on Glock to raise a few eyebrows.  For today's use, they are really hard to beat when accuracy, capacity and price are considered.  As far as the classics like the P38s and Lugers go, I love 'em.  As soon as I have all the cowboy guns I want, ::) I'll start with those.  The only non-cowboy firearm that I own is a stainless PPKs (I don't consider the .44 mag. super blackhawk a cowboy gun, but for the sake of argument, I'll also not count it as a non-cowboy gun).

No, I don't have any of Flemming's blood in my veins.  I've just always loved the movies (or any spy movie).  I once even sent my resume to The Agency but later learned that I would have to give up my German citizenship and that my health would basically restrict me to a desk job.  Oh well.

Regarding Never Say Never Again:  It is widely accepted as a remake of Thunderball, so that is not in question.  It was never concidered an "unofficial" bond movie and didn't do as well.  Since it wasn't considered as "official", it is usually excluded from any "Marathon" movie runs.  I don't think I've even seen it all the way through since seeing it in '84 or whenever.  Now, I need to watch it again. ;D

Best bond?  In this order: (the "..." represents open spots because I don't like the next guy well enough to be placed so high ;D)

Connery
Brosnan
Moore
Lazenby (one of my favorite Bond films, however)
...
...
...
Craig (time will tell if he is good enough if he can move up, but he is not "typical bond" and if he does a Gay/Bi scene in a Bond movie, as is floating around the 'net, then he goes down the list.)
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
Dalton (maybe because of the time -1980's-, or maybe because I was bitter that Brosnan was not permitted to play because he was under contract to do Remington Steele, but I never liked him or the movies)

Jus saw a commercial on TV regarding a new series called Casino Royal.
It's about Bond's training and early days.  A bartender asks him if he wants his martini shakin or stirred an he says "I don give a damn".
Not sure how I feel about this, but will check it out.  Kinda serendipidous that it came on 12 hours after we started this little tangent   ;D

One non-cowboy one I have always liked is the Sig 210, don't know if they still make them, but they were about $1800 15 years ago.  Course I don't want a 9mm, I want the 30 Luger version.

My classic German pistol would have to be a Broomhandle Mauser in .30 Luger.

A real broomhandle was used as the platform for a gun in some very famous sci-fi movies.
Anybody wanna take a guess.  (think hard enough an you'll see it)  ;)

Leo, You are among a bunch of Ol Pfarts that have been around a long time.  I had one of our young officers if I had seen the Mini series about the 60's on TV. I told him that I didn't need to watch it, Hell I was a part of it.  I'm almost 61 and pround to have lived through the 60's and almost 38 years as a LEO and still an active full-time officer.

I have been able to meet some the guys on here face to face, Like Tensleep, his wife, and Ozark Tracker and his wife. I hope to meet Del and Slim at the GAF Muster in October.  I have enjoyed my life as a Law Officer for alomost 40 years and I wouldn't trade my experiences in life for anything. If I had it to do all over again, I don't think that I would change a thing.
