Good evening.  Might anyone know approximately when a Uberti-made 1866 with a serial number of 58183, imported by EMF, would have been manufactured?  I'mm trying to stay away from the older ones due to lack of parts.

Italian guns will have a date code stamped on them. Do a search for Italian date codes and it should be easy to figure out (assuming that you have the gun in hand to check the code).

Thanks guys.  Unfortunately there is no observable date stamp on the gun.  There is just the serial number, a CAT1570, a PSF, and a very small crest.  I'll probably take a chance, since it has only been fired a dozen times.

Sometimes the date code can be hard to find on a rifle, could be the stock or forend wood has to be removed.
Just going by the serial number, I'm going to estimate mid '90's, so you are probably fine.  And it will for sure have a much better ladle than the more recent guns!

Now ... now .... Abilene.  You know darn'd well ... Uberti "Enhanced" that Ladle to improve the 1866 for us connoisseurs.  After all, then went from a ladle that never broke to one that is Ga-run-teed to break.  Not if it's gonna break, just how soon.   ???

My '66 is stamped on the bottom tang near the Uberti name. The marking is somewhat small.

Since I always knew when mine was built I never even bothered to look for the stamp, but got curious so I looked and mine (BN) is there as well.
