Since we're only about a week from the beginning of November I'm sure lot's of you are wondering where the Sept/Oct magazine is with Ottawa Creek Bill's painting on the cover. About 2 1/2 weeks ago I learned that the printing shop didn't have our disk  ::). Ideally I could have just burned a new one within minutes, well...if I hadn't accidentally saved some of the Nov/Dec files back into the Sept/Oct directory I could have. (I will be making two CD copies initially from now on) After reconstructing the corrupted files I took the 'new' disk to our NEW printing shop and after resolving a few compatibility issues we're on the verge of mailing it out and they should be leaving the Lincoln NE post office by the end of the week. The Nov/Dec issue will follow in another 2-3 weeks. Sorry for the delays, I'm confident everything is under control now.

Damn...

With this notice - there goes the 'surprise' factor.

I'm looking forward to reading them - whenever they arrive.

Thanks, George.

George,
Any chance you could bring some copies to The Muster?

That's the plan...PLAN, of course, being the inoperative word  :P

Lone Gunman,
I'm really pleased with the way the cover looks, do you think I should bring the original painting to the Congress next month so those that want to can take a look at it? I've got it framed and matted and it looks real nice.

I live for danger  ;D

Actually NCOWS memberships, renewals etc are handled by George Glenn (who was Editor for the first 12 years) from our Eastern Headquarters in Cedar Falls, Iowa.  Here at my "Western Field Office" I deal strictly with publications including The Shootist, our website, and other matters that benefit from a certain literary flair. It is the latter duty that has led to a very limited voicing of opinion. I regret that honestly, integrity and loyalty to the National organization is held in such low regard in some sectors. I have no regrets beyond that.

Lone Gunman,
Man thats a nice cover, who did you say painted that?? ;) As soon as the issue comes out I will have prints available for sale. We gave a framed and matted one away during the banquet at the eastern regional shoot and the lady was really pleased with it.

Due to the fact that my last shoot of the season was the Midwest Regional, I am currently in bad shape.  I'm going through detox due to a lack of cowboy shooting and winter isn't even here yet.  I'm hooked to an IV of a Black Powder and Ballistol mixture and roll a couple of Meister 200gr. .452's around in my hand while chanting my best impersonation of "Rain Man".  The arrival of the Shootist should help to calm my nerves.

Lone Gunman,

George
St. George pm'd me this morning and said he received his copy of the shootist, have they been mailed out??

I had the pleasure of receving the latest copy of the Shootist and it is a member benefit that makes it well worth to either be an NCOWS member or just a subscriber. The Shootist is also available through a straight non-member subscription at the rate of $30.00 a year ($43.00 outside the USA). If you're not interested in joining NCOWS at this time, but think you might like The Shootist, just fill out the subscription form on the NCOWS website.

Lone Gunman will update you on the distribution status, but here is what you will find in the latest issue:

Marshall Holloway,
I do receive the shootist, but some of us have not received our current issue and I am anxious to see the cover of the magazine since it is from a painting I did for NCOWS which will be raffled off at next years convention.
