The ammo shortage is hurting us . I talked to Jerry and he said he doesn't have the components . He will try to make it happen .

Man this sounds like a fun one!

I have been in the same predicament. Here is where i found components in stock. Might help locate some stuff.

Powder and primers: gunbroker.com, but expect to pay almost double msrp for buy it now auctions

Bullets: desperado cowboy bullets has 45 colt in stock in quantity

Cases: midsouthshooters supply has brass in stock.. at least they did a few days ago.

Hope this helps get the components u need.

He as been more then generous to us in the past. I think it would be nice gesture on our part to not have it this year. It was fun but we all need to understand since most of us are in the same boat.

I have been talking with several Ammo Manufactures in my local area.

They all say they have no re-loading components available for (retail) sale, except for perhaps bullets they cast.
Makes one wonder how they will survive? Maybe they won't and this maybe the reason for some of the shortages?
I can't say and I don't care to speculate, not just yet anyway.

Not survive? Ammo manufacturers are selling all they can make right now and somebody is charging higher prices whether it be them or the retail outlets. They should be bringing in record profits right now.

Cliff, unfortunately the small mom & pop ammunition makers are in the same boat as us. One of our largest suppliers here isn't even going to gunshows because he has nothing to sell and doesn't know when he will.

I don't know where Rowdy gets the ammunition from but unless they make primers they are having as hard of time getting them as we are.

I see what your sayin Will on the mom and pop businesses. I'm certain the big ammunition manufacturers will be getting components before anyone else.

Powder Inc has the ammo, bullets, powder in stock. I would say primers and brass would be their component shortage.

I felt like it was very generous sponsoring the 45 colt championship by donating the ammo. I've thanked them numerous times when placing orders with them.

What components is he needing & how much?

I can help out with primers, & bullets, the bullets are not lubed for black powder, have around 200 350GR flat points. Should be able to by 250GR locally, I will have to check. Can't help with powder or brass.

Just checked the local gun shop, good supply of 2 alpha bullets. 4x 250GR 500 count, at $51.99 each.
They also have 200Gr, 225GR & 230GR. Starting at about $46.99 each.

We are going to do this , we are sitting on some ammo . Now if we don't get our resupply then we will go forward with the Mission . Now that being said we are planning on 3 stages , but we might have to go with 1 pistol . Will keep everyone posted on this . Now who's shooting the 45 Colt Black Powder Championship .

I got a Email from Powder Inc. and they are sending 500 rounds loaded with Goex's New Olde Ensyford powder . So we need to know how many shooters are doing this first come first served .

Well that's understandable. Would have been neat to shoot the new powder but I'm sure they have their hands full right now.
