Looking for Ruger pawl plungers and springs

I've had these on order from Brownells since 12/1, anyone have another source? They are on back order or sold out at Brownells, Numrich  and Midway.
I am using them on my Uberti R&M's along with fixing the arbor length issues using Pettifogger's methods.

Don't need them, John. Use a piece of drill rod and the spring from a BIC lighter.

Thanks, PJ. I had thought of going that route.
So a piece of #35 drill rod and the spring from a Bic lighter. I don't suppose you would have the dimensions of the spring would you? I don't keep any Bic lighters.
Maybe the length of the plunger?

I found these two options for a spring using a search, would either one do the job? They will work with the #35 drill diameter.
Not sure about the length or deflection rate.

Uberti uses Hand plungers/springs on their SAA 73's. Try VTI for the parts.

Thanks for the info, after this post I looked at Sierra Sue's model P and sure enough it has the coil spring, looked ot over and sent an stock check e-mail to VTI, hopefully they have at least two in stock.

Boy am I dumb.  Just looked at your original post.  Your already looking for Ruger.  But, there are two different Ruger spring and plunger lengths.  Might want to call Ruger???

Brownells part #780-001-231  Pawl spring plunger, SS  Ruger part # KE51

Brownells part # 780-000-464  Cylinder latch spring  Ruger part # KHO5000

They are the parts suggested in the Pettifogger Pietta C&B  Tuning details.

What was suggested in the Uberti tuning was 780-012-104 ( XRNSA2) or 105 KXRNSA2) which are on back order.I believe there is a difference in what he used between the Pietta and Uberti pistols.
Maybe Pettifogger could elaborate.

The problem is that the hand/pawl channel in the frames varies from gun to gun and manufacturer to manufacturer.  In many cases the Ruger pawl plunger is to short and will fall into the hammer channel or hang up in the plunger hole.  Rather than continue to fool around with them I have gone exclusively to the following:

Plunger -- Ruger Part Number KE51, Brownells Part Number 780-001-231
Spring -- Ruger Part Number KH05000, Brownells Part Number 780-000-464

These are actually trigger plungers and springs from a double action Ruger.

The plunger and spring are smaller in diameter than the Ruger pawl plunger and spring, but the plunger is longer.  I have not found a Uberti or Pietta they do not work in.

Thanks for the update Pettifogger. I'll see if Brownells have these in stock and will change my order. What size drill do these take so I can have this on hand when I get them?
