Best bet might be to hang around Gunbroker and look for a cut down infantry rifle.  There's usualy several at any one time.  Carbines, even reproductions, rarely seem to depreciate much if at all!

Captmack......not yet, I may wait until the matches at Friendship next spring... ..I can pick up a nice used one down there for between $600.00-$800.00. I may have to buy a full stock and convert it to a saddle ring carbine.
