Next year if the NCOWS national is in Evansville how about having a side match of shooting two stages at night ?? There will be a full moon on the 4th of June, and if we have the night shoot Friday the 8th.. it would still be light from the moon.. also we have a generator and could put up some lights if we have too..I kind of like to add a new twist sometimes..And I don't want Books, Dr. Bob and Trap plus others getting bored setting around the camp fire on a Friday night..A partial lunar eclipse will take place on June 4, 2012..but by the 8 th we will be OK..moon will be 79% of being full..... The link below is a 2009 BP night shoot...

One topic discussed for next year was "posse sponsored side matches".

Each NCOWS posse (in attendance) would provide rules and sponsor one side match.  That posse would be responsible for providing a stage marshall to run the side match as well.

I think this is a great idea and I hope we see this occur.

To that end; Duke appointed me Side Match Coordinator.

The KVC will run a precision rifle side match from the Church.
Col. Bishop's Regulators will run the Mine Car.

I have verbal committments from:

Great Lakes Freight & Mining.
The Texans - Combinded posses.
Johnson County Rangers.
& Montana Hairball's group.

That alone will give us as many side matches as this year.

Bro. Cash, We could always have a "Hiram's Rangers" meeting.  I know we would have a good turnout.

Sounds like a very good ideal for side matches. Keep it going. That is the place that really worked us hard and the last couple of years we have really got to hot. Tj

One other thought:

I'd start long distance and trap matches EARLY in the morning.  I think a 7 AM start would help avoid some of the bad heat.

If we start PLANNING now it will be a very good thing . The more people that participate in the planning phase will be reflected at the National Shoot . This is OUR crown jewel we want  the BEST shoot ever . As far as a night shoot , it would be cooler .
