Problem Connecting to NCOWS.org

Hi Y'all,

I've been having problems connecting to NCOWS.org home page for several days now.  I keep getting the error message "The connection was reset while the page was loading", with the explanation "The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy."  Is anybody else having any problems?

Nope, no joy.  I think I'll contact tech support and see if there's an ISP problem.

Sent my ISP an email.  I connect by satellite, so there may be some issue there.  I'm nowhere near my bandwidth allocation, so I don't think that's the problem.

Hi Y'all,

Researching this issue I came across information that the website's settings can exclude certain browser/OS combinations.  So, anybody else using Firefox on a Mac?  That is, a site can set itself to Windows/IE only.  Anybody know if this might be the case?

I used to be able to get to this site.  That's what makes it bizarre to me.

I use Safari on an eMac. Works fine. I have also used Camino with success.

Hi Y'all,

The problem seems to be in this account.  I created a new user on this machine and connected to NCOWS no problems.  I guess now the real digging to find out where I'm sideways with this site starts.

Fixed.  Corrupted cookie file.  Solution is to delete the cookie file in Finder and Firefox makes a new one.  Takes some burrowing down to find.  I also had to specifically allow NCOWS in Preferences.
