Have read that in US Army test the Rolling Block had a rate of fire of 21 per minute as opposed to the Trapdoors 19. I can do 15-18 and that's with a carbine. What gives? Was this 19th century spray and pray? Were they aiming or just firing volleys? What was their mechanics? A round every 2.85 seconds I'd have to see.

Rate of fire is just that. Its a test for rapid fire... Hitting something is another test/story.  Don
