Oh, i wasn't looking to buy, Cuz; I doubt that i could afford one nowadays anyhow. Remarked to Rifle back just before Wolf got the FROCS site up and going, while he was publicizing his data collection effort, that the price on these fine pistols would probably go up, and the availability would probably go down.
I'd found mine, bundled with a shoulder stock (made by somebody else, of course), at a dealer's in Texas by doing a google keyword search. That search got some interesting results; i think Rifle and I both called up the same lady, if I remember right, after we each saw an ad for an auction that included a real nice Belgian specimen at a reasonable estimate. I, for one, failed to notice that the ad was something like four years old when I called the number...
I'm still doin stuff like that; just noticed that I've eaten most of a half-sheet of wax butcher's paper that was between two slices of cheese on my sammich...sheesh...
EDIT: and just for the heck of it, I just ran that same search again here near three years later - HOLY MOLEY! -
http://www.joesalter.com/detail.php?f_qryitem=14277 ...can't tell how old that ad is...nice 1860, case, stock, flask, n' all, but twelve hunnert frogskins, mama mia! still, if the market'll pay the freight...
