Can anyone identify this one? It's claimed to be '1880's' in WCF 44-40.

It looks double-action, with a swing-out cylinder. I thought those were more modern than the 1880's
Thanks

It sure looks Webley-esque, doesn't it? Maybe a Belgian copy of a Webley?

looking at the ejector I would say Pieper,
I have a .320 Pieper built for Czar Alexander, (1 of 5,000) nice piece, 80% nickel, looks unfired... NOT for sale

I had one of these. Belgian made copy of a Webley RIC. Also had one in .50 Webley!

This is a Belgian made "Frontier Army" Revolver in 44-40. they typically sport a 5 5/8" "oval" barrel, and are marked on the solid top strap "Frontier Army/.44 W.C.F".
They typically have a Double action mechanism. This one (as is usual) has a side loading gate and pivoting ejector rod, not a "swing-out" cylinder,. This is an example of a less expensive Belgium solid frame revolver that was built for sale in America. It is now seen that revolvers of this type were quite common and widely carried in the Old West. They are commonly found and seem to be going for $400 - $600 "depending".

I saw one of these at a gunshow a couple of months ago. Another fellow walked up and announced that he had one just like it. The seller wanted $600. I looked just like the gun shown here.
