We formally met today over lunch...

The first NCOW's Posse will be called CRACKER COW CAVALRY ( CCC average all the way )

The first members are:

Bill Cunningham ( Cherokee Bodie ) Joined NCOWS in the last month....
Blair Taylor Life NCOWs Member # C 21
Roger Ragland ( Major ) NCOWs Member # 3031
Dennis Hus ( MT Chamber ) joining NCOWs ASAP
John Holmes ( Kissimmee River Depot Sutler ) joining NCOWs ASAP

To Be Contacted

Carl Hagemann (Cutter Carl) NCOWs member...

We will meet Sat. Aug. 7th. (Lunch) to formally introduce all parties....

Our first informal shoot is planned for Nov. either the 2nd or Third Saturday . TBD

I'm very excited we have 5 ( 6 because I'm quite sure Carl will jump on board )

I expect to pin a formal invitation to all FLA. NCOWs members, I have the Address of eleven
and alert them our Posse...
Perhaps we will see more join the 1st. Florida posse.

Don't know if you have heard, your friend in the SASS club in Orlando, Weewahotee had a mild stroke, according to the info on the SASS wire he is ok, it did not affect his speech, but did affect his left side.

no I had not heard.....

Robert Leach aka Weewahotee is a top drawer, stand up fellow and was a TOP speed contender in SASS.
Even after the loss of sight in one eye, he still was quick and on target.
This will be tough on him....hope he has a speedy recovery

the time and location is set for the NCOWS posse meeting

Sat. Aug 7th. 12 noon allowing for stragglers ( I'll just drink some tea ,we can order around 12:30 )

The location has been confirmed @
The Cracker Barrel ( Kind of appropriate huh ?)

So far I've heard from two on the Member list NCOWS sent , they are some distance from Cen Fla though.
..... I have 4 fellows beside them planning on being there.

I will see you all there some time between 11:30 an noon, depending on the traffic.
Plan on leaving Melbourne around 10:30 am.
Will you all be the guys with funny facial hair or just strang hat or cloths?

I boast a short full beard.... and part my hair in the middle ....about a 4'' wide part !

I think we just tell the hostess NOCWS Group we should be 5-6 $:-\$

I've heard from only 1 from the NCOWS list I mailed out , and he has let him membership lapse do to no NCOWS activity in FL.
..unsure if he's coming
I did hear from Louis Elliott ditto $:-\$ and Cutter Carl has to work.

There may be a Disney chap who is quite interested CAS and Western History , but know less than nothing about NCOWS.

Not a dress rehersal that I know of. In fact a lot of my period clothes will not pass for NCOWS so I'm planing on wearing 2010 period clothes. I've been window shopping online at River Junction this morning and looks like NCOWS is a good reason to get all new stuff. It's like the wife said the last time we bought a new house. She said "New house, new stuff". I'll be running some things by you guys tomorrow to see what you thing of my ideas.

I'll be happy to share any info I have. I'm sure Roger will too.
In fact, he and I probably know many of the same folks. You and/or anyone else should be able to get a pretty good product review between the two of us.
