Does that look like a buffalo bone in the left foreground or is it dirt showing thru the grass?  Could this be a bone picker on the southern plains?  The wagons are not covered that I can tell.  You would think a freighter would be trying to go loaded both ways.

Dr. Bob as a matter of fact Parts of the Santa Fe Trail of the 1820’s which Fremont used in 1844 across southern Nevada became The Arrowhead Trail and designated U.S. Highway 91, State Route 6 and eventually part of Interstate 15.

The Santa Fe Trail went from Missouri to Santa Fe, New Mexico.
That idiot Fremont was probably lost. ::)

I understand where the trail went fellas, but is it possible that someone used the name Santa Fe on
this trail back in the early days?? I am looking for more info and I will let you know if I find anything.

 SS

"The first established route in Nevada was the Santa Fe Trail which crossed the southern tip of the state by the 1820’s and provided a resting place at Vegas springs."
