Hey,
Saw your great Apache saddle bags in the haversack thread and I have a couple of questions.  I take lots of notes of items I would/intend to build.  Are the cutouts with backing wool on the top layer with the wool lining the interior of the saddle bags?  Or is the wool/cutout leather an aplique over a solid bag?
Thanks,
Mo

Mo,
The wool is an applied applique (sewn to the body of the main bag) with the leather pierced overlay laced to the front of the bag.

Many thanks, that was what I was thinking/hoping.
If I ever get done with this 2nd round of school, I will get to stiching.
