Well now, that's what what I meant about not bein sure if I liked the stuff er not.
     I aint wishy washy by nature, but that rhubarb stuff got me all confused.  Haven't had it since I was a kid, an when it's offered ta me now I say no, but wonder if mebbe I'd like it these days.  The problem is takin the step ta find out.  Got plenny other pies ta eat

Pleazin' went to the bakery 'n got stuff for my birthday. She knows I don't want that stuff. Now, if I don't eat it it's gonna hurt 'er feelin's.

     Try not ta hurt her feelins, just preten' somethin has gone terribly awry with yer bowels an go read a good book in the can 'til dinner's over.  Preserve the piece an all that til it's time fer desert.

Got out of it. Kindah let it slip my ole mind after supper 'n she didn't remind me. Andi came by after class. She encouraged Andi to try some. Small hunk. The girl is like me when it comes to sweets – took a bite, made a face 'n put it down. Think she took some home for Tim. He ain't gonna eat it either but the kid helped rescue me. There's somethin' left in the ice box. Ain't lookin'.

Two of 'em she called lemon bars. That's what Andi gagged on. Two round things she said were tarts. Thinkin' that's what's in the ice box.

Glad ta hear it.

     Them lemon bars aint half bad if done right, lest acourse ya don't like lemons.  Used ta make up a batch an watch em disappear in short order.

Not ta put nobody's tastes down, just wanna try'n explain.

Looked it a couple recipes fer the lemon things. Fullah butter 'n sugar. Ain't what I wanna be eatin'. I get 'nuff of that accidentally. Don't use either on purpose for any food or beverage. Ain't for health reasons the stuff just ain't for me.

Ya see, we often have family 'ere on the holidays. She'll have two or three pies of different sorts. Whipped cream, fat free. After we eat they'll retire to the den for desert. If I have room left in my belly I'll eat another bowl of collards or green beans. Drink unsweetened iced tea with a twist of lemon.

you know I was telling ya about my Aunt sending Pecan Pies, well when ma cousin got here this morning, he was packing a pecan pie from her and some apple nut bread, kinda like banana bread but Apple with pecans.  talk about good,

Yer right about the butter an sugar Arcey.
     Quit bakin a few years back cause I'm sure I was gonna kill us all.  Most times I'd just sit back watch the others enjoy, but if a pot of coffee got put on I'd join em an eat the stuff.  Lil don't bake, so as long as I stay outta the kitchen we should be safe.

I can cook breakfast and cook outdoors, but that's where it stops. My wife is a wonderful cook, but there is only two of us and she works late. It's just easier to get take-out than cook. OT, I'm gonna get to bake some of that Apple bread. It sounds and loos good.
