Norinco 93/97 - CAS Approved?
« on: April 28, 2008, 05:55:35 PM »
Hi all:
Are these 93/97 pump shotguns ok for SASS ? They're marketed by Big5 out here in Calif., though I've never seen one.

The 93/97 were rejected for SASS.  They are still fun tho shoot though and may be allowed at your local matches.

Hi Camille:
Thanks for the response - was afraid of that.
I assume even an 1897 clone with the trenchgun handguard would also be verboten?
Cheers,
P.

Plain '97's,  yeah in Norinco or original.  Trench/riot config, nopers.

Thanks very much for the info - could have prevented an expensive mistale!
Do you happen to know if a "trench" 1897 would be approved if you took off the heat shield/bayonet attachment? Seems like I saw some talk about it on a forum somewhere....
Cheers,
P.

I'm not sure since I don't know that much about the differences in the trecnh guns and the standard '97.  Isn't the bayonet attachment part of what holds the tube on?
