Looking for Book on Dodge City Personalities
« on: March 19, 2008, 10:09:45 PM »
Hello!
I saw a book advertised a while back that was a compilation of biographies of people in Dodge City in the 1870's and 1880's.  If I remember correctly, it was done by the WPA back in the '30's.  I can't think of what the title is to do a search.  Does anyone know what book I might be talking about?  Thanks!

The 'Federal Writer's Project' was a Works Progress Administration affair, and employed a surprisingly large number of noted authors during the Depression.

You'll find the series in any of those Public Libraries designated as a 'Government Repository' - usually located in the larger cities.

Generally - the books can be acquired as 'Inter-Library Loans' - but 'may' be required to be reviewed at your library and not at home, since they're viewed as valuable  reference material, and highly pilferable.

Occasionally, extra copies find their way onto the market - but locating them is a matter of luck.

Good Luck!
