Our first shoot got off to a fun start today. We had 13 shooters and four or five spectators two of which will be new members soon. This is what we expected since about half our members were at the SASS State shoot today and they had already paid their entry fees several months ago.
We knew that not many of the boys from Modoc (GLF&MCO) would be here for our first shoot because they had a contractual reenactment to do today and tomorrow....hopefully they will visit us next month, we shoot every fourth Saturday of the month. Bob Chenault (French Jack) made it to the shoot all the way from Kentucky.
Everyone had a good time... we shot three stages and a woods walk and went up on the top range to shoot some long range buffalo in the afternoon. We should have the scores posted on our web site some time this week. Dutch Limbach took some photos that will be posted on our web page this week, and I plan to post some video here that I took today.
By the way...my son William won the woods walk and shot a perfect 10 out of 10, and my son in law Austin hit 9 out of 10...The targets were not easy....ask those that shot it. The guys that had never shot a woods walk really liked the shooting.
My wife Patty made a big pot of chili and my daughter Margaret helped serve the food. Hope to see you all at our range in the near future.
Some time next year....we may be ready to host a regional shoot.
