With your '87 try loading one directly in the chamber- that would eliminate any thought of sizing. I would spectulate from experiance. The throw on the lever is very long. Which leads to cycling problems, shortening the stock  may help witb that issue. Sod Buster is right about Enid City Kid he is very helpful and a great cook too.

All of you pards in the common wealth i have listed some brass at another site.  I have  included  50 pieces of Magtech 12 ga. Cleaned and primed. $35 sold ]plus postage. I may list some other cowboy related later as i get a good count and polished up a bit.
I also have some .38 auto and .41 colt available.
Just cleaning the storage container out and riding stuff i am not using.

I had good experience just single loading my 87 with brass and plastic.  The load two system takes some practice - if you shove two shells two hard and deep into gun it will mis-feed.

I liked mine but a niece fell in love with the gun and it became a present. More youth shooting our guns is always a good thing.

Hope to load up some 12 gauge soon for Cardinal to give her shotgun a try next weekend during break time.

I am getting low on 38 so taking shells to re-prime with me to weekend horse show - that way to can reload them this week.

Keep fingers crossed for me pards. My O-6 board starts 07 July.

I tried priming at work one time on night shift. Didn't get many done. Work got in the way. Never tried again.

The rifle is ammo length sensitive, but standard 250gr cowboy loads fed properly.  I put 80 rounds through her today, I had to single-load some SWC ammo I had but that was the only snag I had.

Had the day off so I went to see Gunsmith Master Nate to see what he could do for the Remmington that was giving me so much trouble pulling the cylinder pin.  He looked at it, walked back to his work area and about 15-20 mins late he brought it out and all is good!!!!!

He said it wasn't the pin but the loading lever.  Apparently, he took a little off the height and it all started working again.  He thinks the pin might have been a little bent by the lever pushing on it.  However, all I know is the pin slides in and out very easy now.

I was just trying to cap the Remmies with my inline capper. It appears the area around the nipple is too tight to let the capper get in far enough to set the cap.      Comparing the Colts to the Remmies it is clear the Colt squared opening is larger than the fluted opening on the Remmies.  Now I know I cannot be the only one who has attempted to cap Remmies before.  Is there some special capping trick I need to know about???

Don't think so.  I have a standard straight line capper.  I think I'll shift over to my Rugers for Saturday.  Besided I don't want them to feel neglected.

Ha i get mine out wipe them down say sweet things to them and back in the cabinet.  I have several of the strait line cappers. My fingers work better. I did modify one it works when it wants to.

Same here.  My fingers work better.  I still cannot get the cappers (both straight and Universal) to work.
I wish I was shootin' this weekend but have other plans.

Going to Clark Brothers tomorrow to light up the C&Bs (finally!) along with some BP loads for my 44-40s.  I'm heading up to Thurmont, may be shoot there, on Sunday (if they'll let me).  I need some 115gr bullets for my 32-20s before I try loading BP in them.  The 100gr bullets I have now ain't acting right.

I may try the fingers capping them and pop a couple of caps tomorrow....ifn the rain aint too bad.  If I don't fumble finger too much may give it a try at the match.
