What were you doing to have a 240v cap. discharging in yer hand? Sounds like a dangerous job.

My arthritis is caused by 1. me, putting my fists in places I shouldn't in my youth....2. My line of work (at the asylum) requires me to deal with often dangerous 2 legged critters that are intent on hurting themselves, their peers or worse, me! I have at times transported murderers to have shock treatments (ie cookoos nest) that one attacked my 6'7" pard, broke his jaw and I had to take him down single handed. End result, twisted, bent and broken parts....but it has been a good living.

Curley, I was doing routine maintenance in the power supply of a piece of communications equipment called a KW-26. The thing had caps in it the size of a coke can, and still ran off tubes. I thought I had grounded it out before working on it and I guess I did, partially, or I would have been thrown across the room, too. In technical school they would show us pictures of people who neglected to take off rings or necklaces before working on the equipment. There's nothing like a picture of a dead guy to make a point.

Anyway, got a song for tonight?

My dad shorted out a sparkplug wire with his wedding ring, knocked him on his butt.......

and part of one of my favorites, (will probably go home and try to play it on the guitar tonite)

Old Stewball was a race horse
and I wish he were mine
he never drank water
he only drank wine

His bridle was silver
hand his mane it was gold
and the worth of his saddle
has never been told

Oh the fairgrounds were crowded
and stewball was there
but the betting was heavy
on the bay and the mare

I bet on the gray mare
and i bet on the bay
if i'd bet on old stewball
i'd be a free man today

oh the foot owl she hollers
and the turtle dove moans
i'm a poor boy in trouble
i'm a long way from home.....

If Top don't get this one, well we will have to disown him..

its cold and wet again tonite, so keep warm and g'nite

I've been out and about today. Part of it was spent learning how to shoot with a rear buckhorn site.

Peter, Paul and Mary, but what happened to Old Stew's shadow??

Sorry about that, it was meant to be Old Stewball. I think he outran his own shadow.

Is it drying out any over there?

Thank you for the concern Miz Lee

I waz beginin to think I was gonna need to build a boat pretty quick. The rain was comin down about as hard as I have ever heard it. I looked out my back door and the whole back yard was standing water about 4-5", all the way up to my doors. Thought well can't do much so went on to bed. It slacked off and almost completely stopped for about an hour, next time I looked out side the water had drained. then It started raining as hard as before, but it didn't puddle up as much again. I was pretty worried about Old Top. He lives on a pretty good hill. I kept lookin out my window, figgered if I saw him floating by, the least I could do is reach and snare him. The rain has stopped and I'm safe, and I have been seein emails from Old Top so guess he is holdin out too. I was beginin to think we had p/o somebody up there to get all that rain, and I dont want to hear anyone say but we needed it....

We got flood warnings here too. Our county and the one directly below it. The entrance ramp to North bound I-77 is closed at the Rt 212 overpass and they think that SR-800 will be under water behind the spot where Dover Dam is by Friday. Water behind it is at 42ft. earlier tonight according to the local news. deepest I've ever seen it, record was set in '69 at 44ft.. By the way, it's raining cats and dogs here now......................Buck 8) ::) :o :-\

Curly and Miss Annie,

Still here, finally got my shorts dried out and only lost a small part of the hillside, bout the size of three wheelbarrels, so got lucky, all that triming and staking I have been doing seems to have worked.  At the risk of repeating here I think I have got to listen to Gordon "In the early morning rain".  Of which we have had enough, but it looks like another on Thursday.

From a lady with a powerful and wonderful voice, this one is more modern, but suits the occasion:

Here comes the rain again
Falling on my head like a memory
Falling on my head like a new emotion
I want to walk in the open wind
I want to talk like lovers do
I want to dive into your ocean
Is it raining with you

So baby talk to me
Like lovers do
Walk with me
Like lovers do
Talk to me
Like lovers do

Here comes the rain again
Raining in my head like a tragedy
Tearing me apart like a new emotion
Oooooh
I want to breathe in the open wind
I want to kiss like lovers do
I want to dive into your ocean
Is it raining with you

So baby talk to me
Like lovers do

Here comes the rain again
Falling on my head like a memory
Falling on my head like a new emotion
(here it comes again, here it comes again)
I want to walk in the open wind
I want to talk like lovers do
I want dive into your ocean
Is it raining with you

Dang, Buck, you surprised me, knowing that one! Yep, her name is Annie Lennox. Another favorite is Amy Lee, who has a voice to make men weep. Funny, I wasn't thinking of them when I chose this alias, but I wish I had half the voice either have.

<a pause>

Actually I do... just the alto/baritone halves!

Well, saw the "sawbones" today and the ticker is doin ok. the arthritis is out of their control, so just have to be content with the drugs they provide. So all in all I guess I can't complain...

tonites tune:

Coming in from London from over the pole
flying in a big air liner
chickens flying everywhere around the plane
could we ever feel much finer.

coming into los angeleees
Bringing in a couple of keys
Dont touch my bags if you please Mr. Custom man

Theres a guy wirht a ticket to mexico
No he couldn't look much stranger
Walking in the hall with his things and all
Smiling, said he was the Lone Ranger

Hip woman walking on the moving floor
Triping on the secalator
There's a man in line and shes blowing his mind
Thinking that he's already made hre...

Who did it and where on the record did you find it??
