Question for anybody that can help

i am trying to get into the sport and i already have a ruger blackhawk in 357 would that be ok to use or would i need something else

A Ruger Blackhawk is fine as a main match gun in the SASS modern category or an age related category.  NCOWS won't let you use them though.

I started out in 1992 with a Ruger Flat top in 357mag, an 1861 Navy Cap&Ball, my brother's double 20ga, and a borrowed 357 lever gun. Worked for me!
