What About AWA Pistols
« on: April 24, 2006, 06:34:35 AM »
What's the story on American Western Arms?  I understand they are Italian parts that are finished and assembled in the US, is this correct?  What about their case hardening, is it real or is it chemical process like the Italian guns?   How has been your experiance with these pistols? Thank you.

The older AWA's( Peacekeeper, Longhorn) were made by ASM and assembled here in the U.S.. The PK's had Doug Turnbull case hardening and the LH's were chemical, except for a few at the very end. The PK's were plauged with light spring problems and the usual ASM QC problems. Didn't see as many complaints about the LH's. If correct, the PK's were nice guns. The current SAA's are made by Mateba and assembled here by the new ownership. They are also doing Lightning rifles.......Buck 8) ::) ;)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

There was a thread very recently about the AWAs.  I believe that it was here in shooter's meeting too.  It had a lot of good info in it.

I'll see if I can find it for you.
