Swiss 1-1/2 in 45-70

Just loaded up 40 rds of once fired Winchester 45-70 brass (trimmed, annealed, sized) with newly acquired Swiss 1-1/2 powder.

Twenty with 62 grs and 20 with 65 grs. The 62 grs don't look like there won't be much compression needed with a thin card and lubed felt wad under the bullet.

I'll find out later today .....

PJ:  you'll like the Swiss powder.  There will be less fouling than you're used to, and higher velocity.

I could have seated the 62 gr loads with little to no compression. I may play with seating out the bullets one grease groove to get in 68-70 grs powder.

This is fun, but I need to hit the casting bench pretty soon ..... running out of bullets!
