The 2013 NCOWS Midwest Regionals are now history
« on: July 22, 2013, 05:39:11 PM »
The second Annual NCOWS Midwest Regionals are now in the History Books.

Another awesome three day event was hosted by the Wisconsin Old West Shootists at their beautiful range in Glenwood City, Wisconsin. On Friday Long Range Rifle Matches and Side Matches were held. Friday evening we were treated to a tasty Cowboy Campfire supper complete with western singers for entertainment. On Saturday we shot six stages followed by a fine banquet in the evening at a Steakhouse in Menomonie, Wisconsin. Everyone showed up in their finest western duds. On Sunday we shot the final four stages and after a wonderful lunch the awards were presented. Every Shooter received a glass mug with their alias etched on it along with lots of very nice door prizes. A great time was had by all. It was a genuine pleasure to camp in such a beautiful setting.

Here is a link to a slide show of the event www.johnnymccrae.com/2013_NCOWS_MWR.html

If you enjoy the NCOWS Nationals in Evansville, Indiana you will truly enjoy this well run and fun event. G.W. Strong and I already have it on our calendar for next year.

Many thanks to the Wisconsin Old West Shootists for all of their hard work and dedication in putting on another memorable event.

What more can I add!  I also was at the "Guns in the Hills" Midwest Regional.  I would like to personally thank Captain Cook, Dan Topper and the rest of the "Wisconsin Old West Shootists" club members for making me feel welcomed!  When I called Captain Cook about questions on my registration, I mentioned I would not know anyone there.  His reply was that they were just a bunch of friends I haven't met yet.  He was right.  Dan Topper came up with ten fun, challenging, and interesting story line stages.  Free side matches and home made food made by W.O.W. members, it doesn't get any better than that!  I will be back, with more shooters with me.

Sounds like a great event and one that should make all NCOWS members proud of their organization and its fine people. Congrats to all who helped make this event a success. It sounds like all your efforts and hard work have paid high dividends.

Pam and I also had a very good time, great camping pards in the primitive camp, beautiful facilities, very well run match. I too would
like to thank and congratulate everyone who put this on. One added bonus we have is from where we live, we drive the great
river road through Ia, Minn. and Wisconsin so the travel was great also. Definitely one of the best shoots I've been to, looking
forward to next year!!!!!

Thanks for the kind words.  We really enjoyed having everyone come for the Midwest Regional.  It was a team effort to put on this event and I can not begin to thank those people who helped.  Johnny McCrae the slide show that you put together is really great, thanks for doing that.  See you all next year.  Please set aside the third weekend in July and come join us next year.
