12/22....Cattleman

GaryG! (and other knowledgeable fellows)

Have you seen pictures of Uberti’s 12 shot  Cattleman?

Having missed the USFA 12/22, I am inclined to get one.  But I don’t like what I see in their photos.  They may be artistic renderings, but I am seeing chambers further to the outside of the cylinder.  If so, they will have messed with the Colt’s center pin to center bore measurement.  And I don’t think I can abide that.

Other than that… they probably appropriated the basic USFA design eh?  I wish that would have come off with more fruition, I thought it had a lot of appeal.

Whats the basic engineering principle?  Move the hand pivot closer to the hammer pin, get less hand travel?

I haven't seen one but as I remember the Uberti 22 revolver was done on a slightly smaller frame.  That would put the chambers more towards the outside of the cylinder to have enough room for the 12 chambers.

I went to the Uberti site and looks like a full size 22 with a cylinder that looks very close to USFAs.  The cylinder chambers are slightly recessed but that's the only difference I could see.
