I have a couple R&D conversion 1851 Colt Navies.

I had the front sites replaced with a threaded 1/8" brass rod....

What height would you folks reccommend I set front site to for CAS?

I got them replaced as I have had to aim at the very bottom of the targets to hit them....I also wanted to get them replaced before i have them nickel plated.

Thanks!

I couldn't advise from afar. My Wild As Guess (WAG) is somewhere around 1/4", more or less on the international sliding scale.

Take the revolver, with all accoutrements to the range and "File it in."

Sir Charles speaks with wisdom.  Without knowing the specific gun, the load, and do you hold your tongue right, I couldn't begin to guess.
