Look under the loading lever for additional markings.  Are there no proof marks or date code on the frame?  Pictures would help.  Here is the link to proof marks & date codes:

The Ubertis are, and have always been relatively faithful to the original Colt's dimensions.  This was even true when they were imported as G&U (Gregorelli & Uberti) years ago.  You'd have to ask Kirst if they ever had a fit problem, but as far as I know a Uberti is a Uberti,

FWIW: According to my source at Uberti's they did not start making 1860 Army pattern pistols before April 1963.

Diamond Dan please check the date code again.  As Wolf stated the earliest production of a Uberti 1860 Army is around 1963.  The Centennial 1860 Army was first produced.  At this time the earliest 1860 Army I have information on was imported by Replica Arms and supposedly manufactured by Armi San Marco.  XXVI is 1970, not 1960.

This is the first time that, Republic Arms, Dayton Ohio, has come to my attention.  It, of course, is no longer in business but, possibly, there are some interesting ties between Davis Industries and a Republic Arms in Chino, CA.  This is some more of that great mystery that surrounds the replica revolver industry.

Is it possible to get a picture of the Republic Arms Dayton Ohio markings?

Thanks, apparently they skipped a few letters between 2010 and 2011. That is what is on one of my Walkers. WM

You're right 1970;These tired old eyes [and mind] playing tricks again. Have allready removed the markings as i think its much cleaner with a nice smouth barrel top. It definley has the uberti trade mark on the frame.
