Where to get Double Eagle?
« on: August 03, 2011, 10:18:33 PM »
I am looking to pickup a Double Eagle and my local dealer is telling me it is going to be atleast a 12 month wait.  Is there anyone out there that stocks this gun or do I really have to order one and wait atleast 12 months?  Any help would be appreciated!

Fred,
I certainly don't doubt your dealer's 12 month quote but am a bit curious as to where he got it from.  Did he contact USFA or go through a distributor?  There has been a bit of discussion here on the board of late regarding delivery times from USFA.
I would take Deadeye Don's advice and try calling USFA yourself.  If you do, please report back here and let us know what they said.
Sincerely,
CJF

I tihnk Deadeye's advice was tongue-in-cheek.

He called USFA directly and that was the quote he was given.  Sounds like the DE is a pretty popular little gun.  I sent USFA an email.  Ill call tomorrow if I dont hear back and I will let you guys know what they say.

Try Ten Ring Precision 210-494-3063.  He had a couple about 2 weeks ago.   www.tenring.com

Actually, I did catch the sarcasm of calling Donnelly personally but was serious about calling USFA yourself.    Of late there have been numerous complaints/rumors about delivery times and it would be nice to get some information straight from the source.
Dropped by my favorite dealer today.  He has always had a number of USFA's in stock and I asked him what, if anything, he had heard about delivery times.  He said the last word he got from USFA was six months of standard SAA models.  Makes me long for the good old days when it was 4 to 6 weeks on special orders!

FRED: Don't know if you are interested, but my dealer friend (DJ's Loan and Sport in Bothell, WA.) has a brand new 4 & 3/4", .45, blue/CCH Double Eagle in stock.  He has it marked at $1,225.  PM me if you want further details.

Unfortunately DJ's sold the Double Eagle before I could get to it.  Really too bad because that is EXACTLY what I was looking for.  If anyone else sees one please let me know!
