Spencer serial number question

Hello All,
Does anyone have info on how to trace a spencer serial number.  I found several just before and after this number that were listed as going to Kiowa scouts.  The number serial number I am looking for info on is #10640 on the receiver.  Spencer carbine 1865 model 56-50.  Any help appreciated.

Your Spencer Carbine serial # is 10640.  The closest # I show to yours is #10621 which was issued to Co. F, 6th Michigan Volunteer Cavalry on/or/about 02-01-1865.  After that I have a serial # 10763 which was issued to the Tonkawa Scouts, Ft Griffin on/or/about 07-27-1873.

You are right I think I had some similar information it was Tonkowa scouts not Kiowa scouts.  I will post the serial numbers I dug up online tomorrow.
