Changing sights
« on: January 11, 2010, 11:44:33 AM »
I have a Pedersoli 1874 Sharps Quigley model.  I want to replace the blade sight with a globe sight.  The barrel a dove tail mount. Can anyone tell me if I can remove the sights using a drift punch and the best way to installl the new sight?  Any help would be appreciated.  You can drop me a note at  jamesabush@comcast.net

Thank you in advance for your help.

Jim

It should tap out from left to right, and tap the globe back in from right to left.

PS: If the sight needs fitting, file on the flat surface on the bottom of the dovetail on the sight. Do not file the dovetail on the gun. Do not file on the sides of the dovetail.
