Evans Gun Project. Need help!
« on: February 28, 2009, 10:21:50 PM »
Hi All.

I recently bought a New Model Evans.  It is one of the "Frankenstein" guns made after the original company went bankrupt. Unfortunately, it is missing some pieces: The extractor, the dustcover, the mainspring, and (I am assuming this) some type of arm that rotates the spline and advances the cartridges. This is my first Evans, so I do not even know what these parts are supposed to look like. Would anyone have a schematic or pictures of the action? Possible parts source?  Thank You Phil

Thanks Two Flints, I already found those links and one of them had pics of an evans being disassembled. They are what I really need but none of them will open.  Would anyone have any pics of the innards of this contraption?

Jnz,

Sorry about that!

I'll try to get those links updated.  I was not aware that they had been closed by the original poster.  Sometimes, if you join the Spencer Shooting Society such closed links will mysteriously reopen ::) ::) ::)

when taking evans apart number every screw as they only fit in one place even though they look alick couple of thou difrence in lenth ,buflow arms makes the only bullet mould that i know of that workes in NM evans a heal based .432-285gr mould it dosent hold lube so you have to use a grees cooki for lube, evans can be a nightmare to figer outbedt to have a good look at one in good working order and take measurments of parts if you carnt find original parts OM parts are not the same

I had saved these awhile back - maybe they will be of some assistance. Don't know a thing about the Evans myself though.....
