It turns ok if I dont push the wedge in as much as before.  I don't think that will fly.  Also the cylinder wants to spring forward a bit right before the the clicking sound as I rotate it.  That don't seem right either.  Any opinions?

It was a mistake buying this cylinder. It is a royal pain to reload having to back out the wedge, then dropping the cylinder.  Not much advantage over the old way.  I think Kirst is a better way to go, although it requires a bit of machining for it to work.  Might do that later.

Sounds about right.  The cylinder length is just that little bit longer than the percussion cylinder which locks it up when the wedge is inserted the same distance.  If it indexes and locks up correctly with the wedge not installed as far, then it shouldnt be a problem.

FWIW - I agree about the PITA it is to load.  That's why I dumped mine.  The R&D for the '58 is a lot easier to use; but I don't care for the '58s that mich.

Major 2

I used one in a 2nd Gen Colt 60 Army.... it needed a touch of smithing at the hand lenght to smooth
out, otherwise spot on drop-in.

As to loading, I'm in no hurry, I shoot it to relax,
I'll use my Type 1's or my R&M if I want to play through....

Howdy

The whole wedge business is why I don't have any conversion cylinders for Colt type C&B revolvers. The R&D cylinder is very handy in a Remington. Give Taylors a call and explain your problem. I'll bet if you send them the gun they will make the cylinder fit properly for free.
That's bad business! How long do you think I'd stay in operation if it cost me money every time I pulled a job? If he'd pay me that much to stop robbing him, I'd stop robbing him.

Ya probably inherited every penny ya got!
