Doc Shapiro has just what you need.  Have a look here.

There's also some good tips by a past North East regional champion, Dig'em Deep here

Also, since you're just getting started when you practice with your rifle get in the habit of NOT wrapping yoour thumb back over the stock when you close the lever.  Some people achor it and just work the lever by opening and closing their hand and others, like mejust keep it tucked to their hand.  If you start out not wrapping it's a whole lot easier than getting into the habit and then having to break it.

Watch some of the world record videos here and if you watch closely you'll see what I mean.

Evil Roy's CD on shotguns shows you ALL the options for running the '97.  He demonstrates left and right hand picks and various chambering techniques.  Once you see the video, you'll still have to decide which approach you'll take.  National championships have been won with every one of these, different techniques.  In my opinion, the Evil Roy videos are worth the money -- if you intend to practice what he teaches.
