I use a Henry Goldenboy for .22
Legacy Puma 45 for pistol
Marin model 93 in 32 Winchester Special for rifle cartridge.
The henry has been fine. Would be much better with a tang sight.
In the puma i am shooting reloads clays (high end of book load) with 250 grain lead bullets. Last month I got 10 pigs in a row! Again, this would be much better with a tang sight. Next weekend I will be shooting 255 grain bullets that I cast myself.
Even a leg shot will knock over the rams with the 45.
I picked the 32 special because it was Dads hunting gun. I also could use a marlin 30-30 but I went with the 32 since they are pretty rare at the silhouette matches. I have been using hunters hard cast 170 grain bullets, just keep them down to 1600 FPS or they will lead the barrel.
I wish I had the RCBS 170 grain gas checked bullet mold, but I still have 400 non-gas checked bullets left so I will hold off on the mold. I did have some bullets someone else cast from the RCBS mold, they shot great at around 1800FPS. Again, wish I had a peep sight for this one also, but 3 peep sights would run a small fortune.
