New Rodeo
« on: March 14, 2008, 12:23:49 AM »
I picked up my new Rodeo this afternoon.  I bought one off GunBroker.com to practice with until my Single Actions come.  Nice heft.  Points well.  The hammer's a little heavier than I'd prefer.  Thinking I might spiff it up with a pair of Eagle Ultra Ivory grips.

Will start breaking it in tomorrow.  Maybe one of those coyotes yipping out there tonight will stroll by.

Really can't wait to get my hands on my Single Actions now.

RRODDY,

You will find that USFA firearms do live up to all of the talk.  They are well worth the wait.

Although the stock trigger pull may seem heavier than you want, I have always found the actions to be smooth with trigger pulls in the 3.5 to 4 pound range.  I have used Wolff reduced power springs with mostly good results.  At times though, the trigger pull got to light in the 2 pound range and was a little scary.  So I try to maintain 2.5 to 3 pounds with 3 pounds being my comfort range.

Out of my Rodeos in 7 1/2", 5 1/2", and 4 3/4", the 4 3/4 is the best shooting out to 50 yards.

Anyway, good shooting and enjoy those USFA firearms!
