No Major, I am afraid, no Belgian Thuer conversion. If it were a Centaure we would probably have another headline.
You have another shot and I will consider telling you who is doing these Thuers more or less regularly.

Judging by the fact Uberti does not stamp BP only in a visible place anymore least not here in the Colonies...

I'd say,  maybe assuming it's a new gun, Pietta ? , however if it's and older one perhaps ASM ?

OK, OK it is a pretty old Uberti from the 1970 as per proofmarks on the right side of the frame, and the factory mark on the left side of the frame. You US pards are lucky regarding mandatory markings but this is how these pistols looked in Europe during that time.
The Thuer conversion was (and still is) regularly executed by master gun smith Karl Nedbal from Austria (www.nedbal.at).
Nedbal is also doing Colt Army 1860 Richards and gated Remington 58 conversions. He is working from (used) Uberti pistols (customer may supply own pistols) but is adding his newly made stronger cylinders with/without engraving. The 1860 Richards conversions he is doing in .44 Special caliber (6 rounds to the cylinder). Normally he is using the existing barrel with the .451 bore, i. e. the .44 Special has to be loaded with heel-type bullets or hollow based bullets for proper function. He will deliver the pistols with a finish of your choice. Rust bluing and traditional Colt-type case colors is regular, or nickel...All guns are proof tested in line with Austrian regulations!
Besides being a smith Nedbal is a collector of cowboy guns. He is doing his conversions copying the originals in his collection...

Ah... my assumption was it was a new gun... I see (in your larger Pix you sent ) it is an early Uberti circa 1970's
they did stamp Black Powder Only back then... Lord knows I defarbed a bunch of them.

Closer examination shows a somewhat aged finish too... I like it , course the lawyer marks would have to go along with the proof marks.
Looks like high quality work... how many Austrian Marks or Euros would I need to convert to....   do you suppose ?

I have been wanting a thuer for ages...I keep waiting for Uberti to go for it but I dont think they are moving beyond the prototype stage. How much does he charge if one supplies ones own pistol vs. having him provide pistol? Does he supply brass and reloading tools etc? If so how much? Thanks for sharing!

I'll have to find out what Nebal is charging for the Thuer. But I have his prices in US$ for the Remington Army 1858 gated conversion $ 1428,00, for the Colt Army 1860 Richards $ 1900,00 incl. cylinder engraving. If you want the conversion ring and the frame in traditional case colors add 294,00. Pretty costly. All prices assuming you provide your own gun, otherwise add $ 200,00.
Yes, he is supplying the brass for the Thuer. Based on these quotes I would be surprised if the Thuer were available below $ 2000,00.
Uberti told me in April that another go for the Thuer is not on their agenda.
