Welcome to NCOWS Little Al, you will find many an 18th century guy who moves ahead 100 years every so often to enjoy the advancing frontier! I think many in WAS are recommitting to maintaining the joy of the shooting experience WITH historical authenticity.
If you end up being the only NCOWS fella in CT for awhile, don't worry. I was the only one in southeast MI until a year ago, then my friend Monteray Jack Brass jumped in, soon it appears we are moving to three (that reads like we are expecting..., no, no, I mean we are expecting another adult shooter to join us), and we are attempting to draw in other reenactors. Although we have no place to shoot, and not yet enough to be posse qualified I try to make the Nationals and the convention, which with the great group of folks in NCOWS I really enjoy. There is a posse in southern Indaina that I have had the priviledge to shoot with in the past, but they can be a dangerous and rough crowd, so I limit my involvement in such an environment.
NCOWS is growing as people become aware of the joy of combining the historical aspect of the late 19th century with shooting, so get yourself a place at the bar while there is still a little room.
