I went to that site, and you are right, I drooled a little. 

I wuz just wondering about the finishes, I had a hard time telling on some of the internet pictures. I may have to make a trip to the Frazier firearms museam in Louisville this spring.

The secret is in the metal polishing & prep. Colt used to polish at one time up to 900+ grit. To get that finish today = mucho hand labor = mucho dinero.
