45-70 question

Do the 405gr lazer cast bullets with 3 lube grooves hold enough lube for accurate shooting with BP if pan lubed? I dont mind frequent cleaning but would like to shoot around 20 rds between sessions. Thanks

The Laser Cast bullets are not true black powder designs.  They might work ok with subs/replicas.  Take a look at this bullet and compare the lube groves with the Laser Cast design.  The DD/PRS 45-390 RNFP is a true Big Lube™ bullet specifically designed to shoot long shot strings without fouling problems.  This it does.

This bullet is made to work in both single and lever rifles in 45-70 cartridges.  It works great in shorter and longer 45 caliber brass also.

HOLD THE PHONE!!!  I hope you're serious and contact Mason or Slim.  DO buy their bullets.  There's NOTHING wrong with the Lazer bullets ... as long as you're shooting smokey-less powder!  If you try to shoot those hard cast bullets with BP,  they'll have pretty crappy accuracy beyond 100 yds.  When shooting BP, stick with soft lead (nearly pure) boolits.  With LOTS more lube than nearly all of the normal moulds produce!

... pant, pant ... hope I got to ya before ya decided, "Aw heck, I'll give these hard bullets a try this once."
