See they are listing an R&D gated cylinder for the 1860 Army .44 revolvers.

WHere did you see this in their catalog? I just received a new catalog from Midway and did not see this. I tried finding on their web site and still did not see it.

It says they are coming soon. Hopfully that also means that R&D is close in offering the kit to convert your army to a Richard's conversion.

Actually, it's neither. Also, it's a FIVE shot.  ::)  I have no idea why Kenny Howell just doesn't quit with these hokey "stopgap" kits and just sell completed '60 Army Richards conversions.

Correct it is neither...but some of the reasons to sell these are real easy:

Market - much larger, see item 2, below
Production cost / sales cost X above = profit
Production economics (vs. full up conversions)
Taxes
ATF
Shipping "restrictions"
Market (see item 2 again) ;D

River Junction Trading Company had a bunch of the gated kits for '51, '60, and '58 NMA at the NCOWS Convention last weekend.  They looked pretty good.  Follow the link:
