Cajon Cowboys to Inaugurate A New Shooting Class

By popular request, the Cajon Cowboys of Devore, CA are going to inaugurate a new shooting class, called the "Pike" class at our Monthly Matches. The name was adopted in honor of William Holden who played Pike in the movie The Wild Bunch. While this is not a SASS legal class, you may shoot it at Cajon Cowboys monthly matches. The class will not be offered at our Annual, Legends of The West. The "Pike" class participants shoot .45 Semi-Autos in the .45 ACP cartridge with lead bullets, 1911, 1911A1's reproductions and clones thereof, any SASS approved lever action rifle in pistol caliber and a '97 Winchester shotgun only, no exceptions. Dress is standard Cowboy or Period Military. A participant need only have one gun because the guns will be staged on a prop, magazine loaded with 5 rounds, an additional magazine loaded with 5 rounds will be staged to accommodate those scenarios that require two pistols. The shooter will chamber all rounds on the clock. The rules for the pistols are as follows: Only stock pistols can be used, no target or race guns, and no race gun or IPSC type modifications such as, extended barrels, magna porting, compensators, weighted muzzles, wrap around grips, thumb rests, optical or aim point sights etc. Any military style holster is fine as long as it retains the firearm thru the full range of motion during carry. The gun should be in the out of box factory condition for a standard 1911, 1911A1 pistol configuration, clones and reproductions thereof. Internal modifications or accurizing are fine as long as they do not change the way the gun functions.

Questionable firearms will be subject to approval by the Match Director.

The class will be available in February at both matches. Come out and have some fun, tell your friends as well.
