Just wanted to throw up some pics of a recently acquired USFA SA in the 23xxx serial# range.  I've read mixed opinions on the "transitional" period for the "parts" vs "100% US" guns.  This guy appears to be all US: rounded cylinder flutes, conical firing pin, polished hammer, no loading gate "window", front sight profile etc.  It did ship in a hinged box with hand-written end label. Comparing it to my early Italian Inspector Series, quite a few features stick out. I may post some detailed side-by-sides if anyone is interested.

Not to worry. All US.  USFA went to the 2 piece box because it was half the price of the hinged box.  I always liked the hinged box.

Thanks for the confirmation Gary.

Congratulations! Gorgeous gun.

Thanks LP.  This one was a "local" deal that I just couldn't pass up.  Drove 3 hours one-way to get ahold of it.  It was allegedly unfired...I fixed that in short order!  Gun shoots great and the timing, lock-up, trigger pull  and overall function are phenomenal.  I'm historically  prone to some polishing and a spring swap in my SA's but I may just leave this one alone!

3 hours one way is local????  :o

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

  Beautiful revolver, congrats!!

I had one exactly like it and had it not been for the fact that it shot VERY high, I would still own it. In retrospect, I should've just had someone build up the front sight.
