Has anyone had any experience with the Harford 1873 Stallion Revolver with the Bird's Head grip.  Would appreciate any info.

The Hartford Stallion (38 spl.) is, I believe, the same weapon as the Uberti Stallion.  My wife has been shooting a pair of the U's, and loves them.  She has very small hands, but preferred the regular grip versus the bird's head, even so.  She says the regular grips give her a feeling of greater security.  These pistols shot on-point out of the box, but because she does not have great manual strength, we got Bob James to do action jobs, and that gave her much better handling ability. I would definitely recommend these for folks with small hands. ;D

My wife shoots a pair of the Cimarron Model P jrs( same gun as the Stallion with plow handle grips). Her hands are small and they fit her like a glove, she could even shoot them Duelist if she wanted. Fit and finish were good, 2.75lb trigger pulls out of the box and hit POA/POI with her loads( 158g RNFP and 3.1g HP-38). Haven't done anything to them other than clean them........Buck 8) ;)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

My wife also has a pair of the Model P Jr's. She loves them but they needed to be reworked to make them easier to use. A little lighter on the spring and smooth a couple places and they are really nice guns. They hit right on with 125 gr moly-coated bullet and 3.2 gr TiteGroup powder. No sight adjustment needed on them. The finish is just fine and they're good-looking pistols.

I got a pair for my wife too.  She just loves 'em to pieces.  I had Bob Shaw over at Walker '47 give them action jobs and had the rear sights opened up and squared off.  They are dream guns for small hands now.

If you have not already, try both the "plowhandle" and "birdshead" grips. As already noted, some much prefer one over the other. For many of us the "birdshead" grips simply do not offer the control and security that we want/need. Others much prefer them.

My wife prefers the plowhandle grips, but I find that on those tiny little guns, the "lightning" grip points better in my hand. Of course, my hands are significantly larger than hers.
