Hmm...maybe a little more info might get a few more responses.

You state that they haven't been shot in a match but how much have they been shot?  Have they ever been shot?

Have they had any work done on them or are they straight out of the box?

The Ruger Vaquero would run you about $425 new.  If you can find one.  If it's only had a few rounds thorugh it and no action work I would think that $400 would be a fair asking price.  I would say that if you hold on to that Vaquero for a bit longer that you will get as much as you paid for it new if not more.  Davidsons bought up all of the old Vaqueros when the new ones came out and they are running out of them.

Looks as though the cowboys, not cowboy comps, are going for about $550.  Ask $525.

How old are the Black Hawks?

And is that Marlin cowboy a real one with the octagon barrel or one of the big 5 store ones with the round barrel?

I hear the "big 5 store one goes for a couple of hundred less.

A used Ruger Vaquero will go for $325 or so, unless it has had work done to it or it's a Ruger New Vaquero, which mite fetch just a little more.

That's what the pawn shops around here are asking for them.

Thanks  to all who replied,
the vaquero has less than a box run through it and is stock .
the Marlin is the oct.barrel 24in probably 30 rounds through it and no work just out of the box.
I talked with him (brother in law) yesterday and he was thinking about the same on prices. He went to some pawn shops and the vaqueros are almost non existant. the Bass proshop does not even have any in stock.
I guess if I was smart I would buy the Vaquero as it will match mine.

Thanks again.
