To be truthful, my fascination has always been with the 1860 Henry. I enjoy shooting them and loading them, I'm a nostalgic sort, and it's probably one of my favorite rifles to see in a movie, best ever appearance for me would be Lonesome Dove. Then a new western came out starring Tom Selleck. I remember his character Rave Covington stepping into the general store and asking the shop keeper if the rifle on the rack was the new Centennial Model. The Winchester 1876 chambered in .45-60. Winchesters 1st big bore. I was intrigued. Upon visiting a Cabelas in Thornton Colorado I was fortunate enough to hold a original 76 with a certificate of authenticity stating it's owner was Hank Williams. I loved the fit the feel and the massive rifle fit me perfect. At six foot four inches tall and 300 pounds, me and the rifle seemed destined for each other. Now I have a Chaparral with a 26" barrel in .45-60.

Its been quite a while since ive been on the forum. I loved the big rifle in Tom Horn, I ran across mine in the local gun shop. I already had a 73 in 45 colt, and 2 sharps. I saw it standing up and when I held it, I had to have it. My uberti has been fitted with a tang sight, and has my initials engraved, as does my 73. It already had some outstanding wood on it. Its one I wont being sending down the road. The 45-60 chambering has a black bear, and 3 deer to its credit. Its mine.
