Mine was done with about a 3/8" strip of latigo.  Just wrapped from one end to the other and tucked back and knotted to keep it on.  That is on top of two layers of double sided carpet tape but you probably won't need that.  It looks good and it was cheap to do.

If ya need some latigo give me a yell and I'll put a piece in an envelope and mail it to you. :D

Latigo is a very soft, very pliable leather.

My question on this is:  Why do this in the first place?  Padding?

Kid... yup, it's for padding.  Makes it a lot easier on the knuckle side of yer fingers when trowin' that lever down during fast shooting sequences.  I wrap my levers with wide strips of rawhide and decorate the loose ends with beads and feathers.  Works good and looks purty too.   ;)

I retired my old Winchester when I got my Colt Lightning, but I never had any problems levering it.  I felt it, but it didn't bother me all that much.

Snake eyes....you talking about the butt stock cover or a lever wrap?  I haven't seen Kirkpatrick's lever wraps but we have 3 of their butt stock covers.

Howdy all, yup its a lever wrap 1 3/8 wide 3 1/2 in long has 18 holes (9per side) and a lace about 18 inches long. just wrap it around the lever with the leather inside and lace it up lake a shoe  BV (before velcro) works good and is easy to apply.
