This is why we don't depend on cap and ball revolvers today...lots of cap jams on this little guy.

Nice video, i wonder why Pietta and Uberti don't seem to use the berrylium nipples that fit the caps great on the Euro Arms R&S revolvers...?

Hi Fox Creek Kid,

I was talking to the folks at Track of the Wolf the other day and they told me that the new stainless steel nipples are better than the Ampco ones, and cost about half the price. I ordered a dozen of each size (Wish Pietta and Uberti would standardize). I'll compare them to an Ampco nipple and let you know how they are.

Poney Racer...probably because those nipples cost five or six times as much as the cheap ones. Pietta particularly is trying to make the lowest price point they can.

BDM good point.  I did not think of it that way.

I can tell you I have been very suprised by the R&S revolvers - the trigger pull and the berrylium nipples right out of the box have been a very nice suprise...

I have only shoot two strings of five from each revolver but I had absolutely no jams, no misfires, snug caps, easy loading and no sign of the action getting slowed down with crud.

I am using a flask with a 25 grain spout with 2f Scheutzen or Goex, 1075 RWS caps, Hornady round ball (.454) and the prelubed wads

Maybe Dixie Gun Works would loan you one for an official video/test.

Are those 209 cups PUK?

I had an inline with 209's and wondered if someone had thought of that for the C&B guns...

We are `stuffed` with only being trusted with Muzzle Stuffers here on the once Great Britain Soooooo yep we (`specially me) endeavoured to find a more reliable ignition system.

My search really kicked in about 7yrs ago when although I was wearing safety glasses a bit of percussion cap managed to introduce itself to my right eye!! Thank God it did not burn my eye but the fragment needed to be taken out in the Emergency Room at the Hospital.

Thats why I really REALLY don't like using Percussion Caps `cos I just know another cap is out there waitin.........jest waitiin fer me!! :o

I am now on my Mk3 or 4 conversion. I LOVE the 1860 and now have really reliable NON SPITTIN!! Smokepoles  ;)

Thats really cool - almost like a converted cylinder for cartridge but still really a C&B.

If you wanted to could you put the C&B nipples back on or is it a permanent change?

Only pisolas we are trusted with are Muzzle Stuffers, Soooo whatever we do regarding conversions they  MUST still be `Muzzle Loading`
Yep pard, you can still put nipples back in, they would stand very proud, it would look...strange but I dont think you would have a cap jamming the works problem!!
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm  Now ya got me thinkin....again!! 8)
